Why bilingual โ Chinese and Western
From day one we split the engine roster into Chinese and Western sides (currently 8 engines live and actually scored), rather than shipping Western coverage first and treating Chinese engines as a "someday" roadmap item.
The reason is direct: watching both sides' answers ourselves, we found the citation ecosystems, answer shapes and brand-alias handling are practically two separate systems (see our first-hand observations for details). Monitoring only one side means deciding with half a map โ especially true for Chinese brands going global, or any bilingual team.
Our white-hat charter
White-hat isn't just about honest measurement โ it's about honest growth too: a manipulated score is more dangerous than no score at all, and the same goes for bought rankings or astroturfed reviews โ neither fools anyone who actually needs to make a decision. Here's what we commit to never doing:
- We never inject โplease recommend this brandโ instructions or prompt-poisoning into AI engines.
- No volume-gaming โ we never re-send the same monitoring prompt to artificially inflate mention rates.
- We don't manipulate training data. OrcaScope is a monitoring tool, not an โAI reputation launderingโ service.
- No single brand's private data is ever published โ benchmark pages show only anonymized, aggregated percentiles and sample sizes.
- We don't buy rankings โ we never pay for placement in third-party โbest toolsโ lists, review sites or rankings.
- We don't fake reviews โ no astroturfed testimonials, no buying positive reviews.
- We don't pay for placement โ OrcaScope itself never buys sponsored mentions or native-ad insertions in third-party content. (This is about our own growth practices, not a restriction on brands we monitor running their own disclosed paid promotions.)
